Issue 1: One or more keys do not register at all in the test
Your keyboard failed the test on those keys. If it's a budget membrane keyboard, it might be time to replace it. Check first if the USB cable or wireless dongle is firmly seated.
The issue stems from dust accumulation, oxidized contact leaves, or cracked traces on the PCB. Recommendation: pull the keycap, blow compressed air, and clean with 99% isopropyl alcohol. For hot-swap mechanical boards, replace the faulty switch.
Issue 2: Accidental double inputs or repeated keystrokes (Chattering)
You type a letter once and two appear on screen (e.g. 'hhello'). The internal switch is bouncing before stabilizing.
Metal contact fatigue or insufficient debounce delay in firmware. Recommendation: lubricate switch housing with Krytox 205g0 / DeoxIT, increase debounce threshold in manufacturer software (from 2ms to 8-12ms), or replace switch.
Issue 3: Keys locking when pressing multiple keys simultaneously (Ghosting)
When gaming and pressing sprint + crouch + jump together, your character ignores the action or your PC beeps.
Limitation of simple 2KRO/6KRO matrix wiring without diodes. For competitive input without lost chords, upgrade to a true N-Key Rollover (NKRO) keyboard with individual semiconductor isolation diodes on every switch.
Issue 4: Accidental spill of coffee, water, or sugary drinks
Unplug keyboard immediately! Place it upside down on a dry towel and never press keys while moisture remains inside.
Do not power on to prevent short-circuits. Disassemble keycaps and case, flush sticky residues with 99.9% high-purity isopropyl alcohol, and allow 24-48 hours dry time before reconnecting.
